Located at vibrant Place Rogier, Cardo Brussels features a playful design by internationally acclaimed designer Saar Zafrir.
The standout interactive media installation at the entrance transforms visitors into cartoon avatars, mirroring Belgium’s rich art and pop culture.
The installation offers a dual experience: surreal landscapes, dynamically generated based on real-time weather data, shift with elements such as wind speed and time of day, painting an ever-changing visual backdrop. As visitors approach the screen, the magic intensifies as they are transformed into unique, cartoonized or Magritte-inspired avatars, creating a personal and immersive encounter that blurs the lines between digital art and personal identity.
The installation utilizes Interactive Stable Diffusion within the TouchDesigner framework. A dedicated capture and distribution server channels input to a real-time, image-to-image processor, dynamically transforming images based on specific prompts. This sophisticated integration facilitates the seamless conversion of real-world inputs into detailed digital artworks.
