Brief and internal R&D context

The aim was to build seasonal virtual environments for filming and presentation, testing how atmosphere and environmental change could be directed inside Unreal Engine.

Seasonal environments in Unreal Engine

Refractiv developed the environments, look development, animation, and Unreal Engine production around a set of seasonal shifts. The scenes were designed to move across different atmospheres and times of year, accommodating varied weather conditions while holding one visual direction.

The project shows how Unreal Engine can be used in spatial settings for environments that change over time while staying visually coherent. The result was a set of seasonal virtual scenes that could support both filming and presentation, with atmosphere and variation controlled inside one framework.
